This Week in Science #3

This week in science we worked on our Plant investigation with our groups. We measured our plants and saw how they grew over a matter of time with 2 cups in the dark and 1 in the sunlight. This week we also got in our groups and did a mission, where you had to go around to everyone and ask them what kind of pets they got. We then gathered the information and made a bar graph, line graph and a pie chart based on the data we got from everyone.
This week in science I learned that even if some plants don't get sunlight they could grow because they still get water so they could still grow. This week I also learned more about the independent and dependent variables for our plant investigation. Then I learned about how the hypothesis has to be (if, then, because).

This week in Science #2

This week in science we played with the poppers seeing how high they popped and was investigating them and made up questions with the dependent and independent variables about them. We also got new seats and started to look up research for the new plant Brassica Rapa. Then we got in our new groups and started our plant investigation #2 with BrassicaRapa. In our groups we then got our cups with soil and got 3 little seeds for each cup and planted then. Then we put water in them and put 1 cup in the sunlight and the other 2 in a closet with no sunlight.

During this past week in science we learned about Testable questions, independent variable and dependent variable. A testable question is a question that can be tested through observation. A independent  variable is a variable that the scientist changes on purpose. And a dependent variable is a variable that can be measured. We also learned about  BrassicaRapa which is the plant we are now growing in class.
